‘They that Sow in Tears’ was the first piece created, but is the second part of the collective narrative. Coming out of the thick of COVID, lockdown, a car wreck, and a breakup, This piece was/is supposed to represent beauty being birthed from pain. Of someone’s hurt being used to create something beautiful. After so many of life’s battles, one can start to wonder ‘is there really purpose in this?’.....’how could this blow, this betrayal, this set back, ever be made into something good?’. The subject in this piece is crying and appears distraught, however, her tears are gold- watering the blossoming garden beneath her. Where vines and thorns once were, there is now burgeoning beauty. Her tears are precious and meaningful, bringing to fruition beauty and fruitfulness.
